Bladder Lift (Anterior Colporrhaphy)
- Restores the support of the bladder without mesh
- Repairs the structural integrity of the vaginal wall
- Done through a single vaginal incision
- Alleviates the bulge from a cystocele (dropped bladder)
- Improves symptoms such as pelvic pressure, urinary leakage, or difficulty voiding

Concomitant Procedures
- Rectocele Repair or Perineoplasty if there is also vaginal laxity or a bulge from the back wall of the vagin
- Incontinence Procedure such as Bulkamid or Mid-Urethral Sling Surgery if there is also urinary leakage in addition to a dropped bladder
- Apical Suspension if the uterus is also dropped
What to Expect
- Surgery is about one hour in an ambulatory surgery center
- You go home the same day and can ambulate immediately after the procedure
- Nothing in the vagina for six weeks after the surgery until all the sutures have healed
- Avoid straining and heavy lifting for the first 4-6 weeks
- You can continue low impact exercise such as walking and pilates immediately after surgery
- Avoid travel for the first two weeks after surgery
- Avoid swimming pools, baths, saunas, steam rooms for 6 weeks after surgery
- Pain is minimal and there can be vaginal spotting for a few days to weeks from the suture line
